Project
Rovernet

The organization Junák –Czech Scouting decided to create Rovernet as an important part of the rover program for its members aged 15–24.
The Rover Program consists of educational tools, methodologies, and activity inspiration for rovers and rangers. The web application Rovernet is designed to bring all these components together in one place, making them accessible, well-organized, and more approachable for the target audience through its online format.
At the core of the Rover Program are the five areas of the Rover journey, which define the skills and attitudes rovers and rangers should develop. That’s why we’ve created new tools – such as the Rover Compass, a project and challenge database, and more – to support and connect rovers and rangers.
We developed the new Rover Program for several reasons:
- We want to support this educational category, which has been programmatically overlooked in the past, even though it is one of the most important and crucial for the growth of the organization.
- Rovers and rangers lacked concrete activity ideas and methodological support.

Challenge
Digital Transformation of the Rover Program
Junák – Czech Scouting, the largest educational organization for children and youth in the Czech Republic with nearly 77,000 members, approached us with a unique challenge: to create a web application that would serve as an information hub and program support for the rover and ranger age group (15–24 years old).
This age group had been programmatically overlooked in the past, despite being one of the most crucial for the organization’s growth. Rovers and rangers lacked concrete activity ideas as well as methodological support.
Our task was complex:
- Create a digital platform for the Rover Program
- Provide a space for tracking personal development
- Offer a database of projects and challenges for inspiration
- Connect rovers and rangers across the country
- Design a user–friendly solution that respects the specific needs of the 15–24 age group

Identification of potential
The organization Junák – Czech Scouting had a website Rovernet, but it did not fulfill its function.
- The existing website failed to engage the target group sufficiently
- The user journey was often unclear
- The content did not appeal to younger audiences and its form seemed outdated

Solution
Youths today live digitally – and our new design had to adapt to this. We decided to completely transform the project into an interactive and fun experience.
Key pillars of the project:

Digitization
The process of transformation

Conclusion
Web application Rovernet
The Rovernet project presented a unique challenge – to create a digital tool for a specific target group that would be both methodologically useful and entertaining. By working closely with the client and testing with real users, it was possible to create an app that truly meets the needs of young scouts while supporting their development.
Rovernet is an example of how digital transformation can help traditional organisations reach and engage the younger generation through tools that are close to their hearts.
