Project
365 Jablonec

From paper to digital city events calendar with automation
Imagine a city where all the cultural and social events are at your fingertips – without having to search in different places. This is 365 Jablonec – a digital revolution that has simplified access to information for residents and visitors. While flyers and posters still exist, the new system of automating the cultural calendar brings the city into the modern age, bringing all events together in one place and making the work of organisers easier. 365 Jablonec has become more than just a website – it's a bridge between people, places and experiences that saves time and connects the community to cultural and leisure activities.

Challenge
The town of Jablonec nad Nisou faced the challenge of modernising the presentation of cultural events for its citizens and visitors. The original system based on a printed calendar was no longer compatible with the requirements of modern times and the needs of users.
Key issues:
- Manual entry of events - time consuming and error prone
- Limited accessibility - lack of proper digital form
- Lack of flexibility - difficult to update
- Barriers for small organisers - difficult to publish events
- Outdated design - unattractive to younger generation, mobile devices etc.
Project goal:
Create a modern digital platform that automates processes, increases the availability of information and supports local cultural life.

Digital transformation process
Before the launch of 365 Jablonec, cultural events in the city were communicated through paper calendars, posters, individual websites and social networks of various organizers. It was difficult for citizens and visitors to get a complete overview of what was currently happening in Jablonec.
Thanks to the new platform, all events - from town festivals to cinema screenings to community workshops - are gathered in one central location. This has significantly improved public awareness, increased attendance at events and also made the job of organisers, who can easily upload and manage their events, easier. At the same time, the portal enables the export of data that is used as the basis for the printed version of the Sports and Cultural Calendar, which is part of the Jablonec Monthly.
365 Jablonec has thus become not only an online calendar, but also a fundamental building block of the digitisation of the town. Thanks to the API connection with external platforms such as kudyznudy.cz, kinajablonec.cz and the upcoming new town website, it brings automation that saves time, eliminates errors and ensures the timeliness of data. In the future, the platform will enable further connection and development of functions across the areas of culture, leisure and tourism.
- Research of target groups: residents vs. visitors
- Analysis of the current situation: identification of weaknesses
- Definition of function and design requirements
- Comparison with other cities (best practices)
- UX: user journey design
- UI: modern, user-friendly design
- Optimization for mobile, tablet and PC
- User testing
- Modern frameworks and databases
- API connection with external systems
- Data security

Conclusion
The future that connects
365jablonec.cz has become:
- A functional and effective tool for cultural communication
- An inspiration for other towns in the Czech Republic and the EU
- An example of how digitalization supports culture and tourism
365 Jablonec has become a lively centre of cultural and social events in just one year - not only for Jablonec nad Nisou, but also for the whole region. It has shown how digitisation can unify information, open up space for smaller organisers and offer residents and visitors a clear and trustworthy resource.
And this is just the beginning. Upcoming features will bring even greater comfort and possibilities - from interactive maps and personalised recommendations to deeper integration with cultural and tourism partners. 365 Jablonec thus continues to grow as an open and useful platform that connects people, places and experiences.
Review from Jakub Gerš, Director of Culture Jablonec, p. o.
After one year of operation, it is clear that 365 Jablonec has met the original expectations and in many ways exceeded them. The portal has brought clarity to the world of events in Jablonec and has become a place where people look for inspiration for their leisure time. Moreover, the originally "city" project has become a serious tourism product that helps visitors to spend their time in Jablonec to the fullest. The positive feedback from users and the increase in visitors confirm that we are moving in the right direction. We thank the development team for their great work and look forward to the next challenges together!
